Yet another study has been published that proves the damaging affects of Juul. The American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine contains findings from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in a study entitled, “Microbial Toxins in Nicotine Vaping Liquids.” Testing vaping liquid revealed the presence of glucan, a microbial toxin that can be found in fungal cell walls, in tobacco and menthol flavored liquids. This toxin causes inflammation in the user’s airways and can lead to chronic lung damage.
A new study from the Division of Cardiology at the University of California confirms that Juul’s claim to be “safer” than cigarettes is false. This study demonstrates that inhaling nicotine impairs the user’s vascular and endothelial functions. The user’s cardiovascular outcome is negatively affected. This may be compounded in teenagers, who have reported over-consumption of nicotine products such as Juul.
Juul’s move to ban fruity flavors was a public relations attempt to show responsibility. However, Juul knows that teens actually prefer mint and menthol flavors over fruity flavors. A hollow attempt to right their wrongs comes too late. A new generation is now addicted to nicotine and society will suffer the consequences.
Distracted driving awareness is critical to being safe on our roadways. The Delaware State Police has determined that the majority of fatalities from motor vehicle accidents are due to distracted driving. If you or your family have been affected by a distracted driving motor vehicle accident, please contact us.
Juul placed millions of consumers in serious risk by knowingly shipping defective products. At least one million contaminated nicotine pods were shipped nationwide. Juul’s Former Vice President detailed a “culture of indifference to safety and quality-control.” Contact us if you or your child has been affected.
Since 2015, Juul has caused an explosion in teen smoking. A young generation that was cigarette-free is now largely addicted to this dangerous product due to Juul’s targeting of minors through social media and other forms of advertisement. Their product, which has never been approved by the FDA, produces a deceptively high concentration of nicotine through nicotine salts mixed with chemical flavoring and benzoic acid. Serious pulmonary and neurological injuries and deaths have occurred nationwide. Contact us if you or your child has been affected.
